A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the abdomen. During a tummy tuck, excess skin and fat are removed from the abdomen. In most cases, the connective tissues in the abdomen are tightened as well. This surgery flattens the abdomen by removing extra fat and skin, and tightening muscles in your abdominal wall.
Downtime:
A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that will require 2-3 weeks to heal. The technique includes an incision, so it is normal to have moderate pain during these first several days, although this will steadily improve.
Post surgery the patient will be counseled to avoid heavy weight lifting, or to involve in strenuous activities.
Walking is however advised.
